IconHardly any free places
It's relatively easy to travel by train from Hamburg to Vienna. In the ICE you have plenty of legroom, sockets to charge your mobile phone or laptop, wifi and a board bistro. The journey is pleasant through beautiful landscapes, coffee is served directly at the seat on request and the conductors are very friendly. The journey was longer than indicated, due to construction work there were extreme delays. Fortunately, the next train was also delayed. The seats could have been cleaner.
Advantages
IconEnough space to store luggage
Disadvantages
IconNone
I took the ICE to Vienna. The equipment was top notch, and there was wifi the whole way, which everyone could use. The seats were also very comfortable. The train was also very clean. The train arrived on time and also arrived quite quickly. It's great value for money because it's so fast. There was also enough space to store luggage, but I wouldn't take any large suitcases.
Advantages
IconDirect connection
Icon1st class ticket is cheap
IconPlenty of room to sit
Disadvantages
IconDelay
IconExpensive food
IconDisabled space not bookable. Wheelchair space only
1st class: Wifi was stable the whole journey. Power socket was available and functional. The seat was very comfortable as you have plenty of room for your legs. For a longer journey, in my opinion, more comfortable equipment for the head is missing if you want to sleep. Despite the mobile phone zone, it was quiet. There is a waiter service in first class, but this only started in the last third of the journey. In general, however, the staff were very friendly. The toilet was not particularly clean for first class. But I think it is difficult to guarantee this as the toilet is in the 2nd class area and therefore many more people could use the toilet. Unfortunately, we had a considerable delay of almost 2 hours. What surprised me was the fact that the first class ticket was cheaper than the second class ticket. The disadvantage was that I could no longer book a seat in first class. And no disabled seat either. This was only possible directly on the train (there are always 2 seats reserved for this purpose). But all in all, travelling by train is very relaxed. And we got money back for the delay. And relatively quickly. TOP
