Cons
IconSlight delay
In December, I travelled from Hamburg to Düsseldorf to visit a friend. The journey started on time in Hamburg and the reserved seat was very comfortable and convenient. There was also enough space for the luggage. Unfortunately, the train arrived in Düsseldorf a little late, which was not a big deal. The staff on the train were very nice and courteous. They informed all passengers directly which connections could be reached in Düsseldorf.

The train ride from Hamburg to Düsseldorf was really relaxed. My girlfriend lives in Düsseldorf, so I go there quite often. The train was a bit loud and squeaked a bit, but with headphones it was no problem. I especially remember the cheerful and always professional travel staff. The power sockets available at every seat were also nice. The free internet worked great.

I had travelled back to Düsseldorf from Hamburg at the end of last year and wanted a comfortable journey on a long trip like this. The seats were very comfortable and also had power supply on the side for the mobile phone or laptop. The staff on the train were very friendly and also guided me to my reserved seat, as I had not found it at first. The train arrived on time and went through without any problems. In addition, the toilets were cleaned regularly, so you didn't have to feel disgusted like on normal train journeys. I particularly liked the stable internet connection, which allowed me to watch films without any problems. The price was simply top.

IconFlight delay
IconExpensive prices
It was very cramped on the plane, the food was OK. The hygiene of the toilet on the plane could have been better, but everything was clean at the airport. The transfer itself worked well, but the suitcases were lost in Hamburg and could not be found until today. All in all, the trip was fine, but with one big loss. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend a flight with a change of planes.

IconTravel time
The journey from Hamburg to Düsseldorf followed with IC 2021, in second class. It was a quiet night journey with very few passengers. I personally found the journey a bit long, it took about four hours. It's faster with the ICE. The train had no delays. There was free wifi on board. The train was in very good condition, it was clean and hygienic. Overall, the journey was pleasant.

IconClean train
IconOn time
Cons
IconNo wifi
I travelled from Hamburg to Düsseldorf with IC 2021. The journey was in second class, I did not make a reservation and yet there were enough seats. Reference was on time and it makes a very well-kept and technically flawless impression. It was a quiet and relaxing night journey. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately there was no wifi on this train.
Pro
IconConnection on time
Cons
IconI cannot complain about anything
I used the FlixTrain on 27 November 2022 for a visit to Hamburg. What I particularly liked about this. The train connection was on time. There was enough space and the comfort was correspondingly good. The on-board staff were very friendly and attentive. As far as technical comfort on board is concerned, I must say that entertainment, such as wifi, and my own power connection were optimal for me. The cleanliness of the toilet facilities was also quite acceptable. The price-performance ratio for this trip was absolutely top. I will book it again and again.
Pro

IconCheap
Cons
IconNone
I travel to Hamburg once or twice a year to visit a friend. Because of the unbeatable price (especially as an early bird), I prefer to travel with the Flixtrain. Unlike other trains, the Flixtrain is very reliable and usually on time. As I am quite tall, the legroom on this train is also a bit tight, but no worse than on any other train. Unfortunately, the backrests cannot be adjusted. The service is very good and the staff have always been very helpful. On board there is free wifi and on-board entertainment (music, films, audio books) which you can watch on your own mobile phone or laptop. A clear advantage over other trains: even if you haven't booked a specific seat (additional cost), you are guaranteed a seat! However, if you book for more than one person, it is better to make a seat reservation, as otherwise (despite booking at the same time) you are usually not seated together (this could perhaps be improved). The train itself and the toilets have always been "clean" (the behaviour of the passengers also plays a big role here). Conclusion: I really enjoy travelling with the Flixtrain.

Cons
IconSomewhat long travel time
I travelled by Deutsche Bahn IC from Hamburg to Düsseldorf. The journey was at night and it was pleasantly quiet. The train arrived on time and the Deutsche Bahn staff were friendly and courteous. Despite being second class, the carriage was well equipped and clean. As it was the IC, the journey dragged on a bit. I didn't notice anything of the landscape at night. The on-board bistro was closed. Overall, the train was very well maintained.

The ICE journey was very comfortable and, as always, very fast. The wifi is very fast and easy to set up on your phone. A power socket was available. The train staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. The rubbish is left on the seats and is apparently only cleared away at the end of the day. During my trip, a lady came 3 times and sold hot drinks. Unfortunately, she was very loud, which is not acceptable in a quiet carriage. The ICE had been delayed by about 25 minutes. As a single person, it is very worthwhile to travel by train. With several people, the price-performance ratio is not good

Unfortunately, the train from Hamburg to Düsseldorf was not a perfect journey. The train was late and therefore also arrived late at the destination station in Düsseldorf. Comfort is top, with a power socket at the seat it is perfect for passing the time with work, for example. The staff were also very nice. Unfortunately, they were not able to provide any information. Also, the toilets were not clean.

The return journey from Hamburg back to Düsseldorf was also very nice. The first thing I would like to mention is that I was able to book the ticket online without any problems. The train was always on time. It was warm and comfortable on the train. The reception was also very good. The staff were always friendly and helpful. It was also very punctual. I didn't experience anything bad on this journey.
