Vueling Airlines is a Spanish budget airline based in Barcelona. The airline was founded in 2004 and is currently the second largest airline in Spain with their major hubs being in Barcelona El Prat Airport and Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport in Rome. Starting from humble beginnings with a single flight from Barcelona to Ibiza in 2004, Vueling now services over 160 destinations including Africa, Asia and all across Europe with plans to expand to the Middle East. Vueling’s aim is to make air travel as pleasurable and satisfying as possible, and they aim to achieve this by constantly striving for improvements, which is clearly referenced in their company slogan of “love the way you fly”.

Vueling operates within 38 countries with an average of 2.2 million passengers from each respective country. Offering both domestic and international flights, Vueling’s main base and largest hub can be found at Barcelona's El Prat Aiport, and their additional major hub is located at Leonardo de Vinci-Fiumicino in Rome. Vueling always select the major airport of all the cities and routes that they fly to. Other popular airports include Amsterdam, Ibiza, Seville, Valencia, Paris-Orly, Brussels and Florence.
Although Vueling is classed as a low-cost airline, it still offers extra benefits to their customers as an incentive to travel with them. Vueling Airlines also offers a host of services while on board the aircraft and prior to departure.
Vueling offers 3 different types of fares:
If you have purchased a Basic or Optima fare then you cannot cancel your ticket. You can change the name and/or the time and date but this comes at an additional cost.
If you have purchased an Excellence fare then it is possible to cancel your ticket up to two hours before the flight departs, a refund will be made for the amount of the booking minus transaction costs.
Hand Luggage All passengers can take 1 item of hand luggage that is no bigger than 55x40x20 cm and weighs no more than 10kg. A smaller bag, the size of 35x20x20 can also be taken on board, and must be stowed under the seat in front.
If your bag is over these size and weight requirements then a fee of 40euro will need to be paid and the bag(s) will be placed in the hold.
Checked Baggage:Each passenger can check up to 3 bags, collectively weighing no more than 23kgs. If the amount weighs more then 23 kg then a fee will need to be paid.
If you have a Basic fare then you must pay to have luggage in the hold regardless. If you have selected the Optima or Excellence fare then you can take 1 bag free of charge or 2 bags free of charge respectively.
If you have smart luggage then you must make sure the batteries have been taken out and that they are on your person during the flight.
If you will require assistance during the flight then please make sure you let Vueling know when booking the ticket. They will then ensure that special assistance will be available.
If you enquire assistance just 24 hours before the flight then Vueling reccommend contacting the Airport itself so they can arrange assistance.
Disabled spaces are limited so it is best to book as far in advanced as possible to ensure a seat is available.
