We opted for the train as it was shorter than flying, with all the trimmings, and above all it was more environmentally friendly. The best thing was the friendly staff, but unfortunately the train was very full. We travelled in the morning so that we were in Copenhagen in the afternoon. We paid €107 for the return journey, which is definitely a reasonable price!

PersonnelThe journey from Hamburg to Copenhagen was really very pleasant and can be recommended. The train left on time at 7.25am and arrived at around 12.30pm. During the journey I used the toilet, which was very clean and had plenty of toilet paper. The train also had a large compartment for my luggage, which was also very helpful. The only problem, which wasn't dramatic, is that the train staff only appeared twice, so I couldn't ask for help.

The seats were relaxed and clean, which I really enjoyed. The toilet was also quite clean, which was good because nobody wants to do their business in a dirty toilet. The service was really nice and also asked me questions. It was very quiet and yet I didn't get too much sleep. I didn't have to change trains, which was good. In the end, the journey was fine and only 5 minutes late, but I'm not going to make an issue of that.

About
Sylt Shuttle Plus was a unique passenger train service operated by Deutsche Bahn (DB) that connected Niebüll and Westerland on the island of Sylt, Germany. Unlike the primary Sylt Shuttle, which transports vehicles, the \Plus\" service was designed for passengers without cars. It involved coupling a Class 628 diesel multiple unit to the rear of the car shuttle train. Introduced in 2015, the Sylt Shuttle Plus gained notoriety for its often-empty carriages and longer travel times compared to regional trains, leading to its nickname \"ghost train.\" The service was discontinued in December 2024."

erixx is a private train company in Germany offering rail services in Bremen and Lower Saxony in northern Germany. Founded in 2011, erixx runs six regional lines including the Heidebahn from Hanover to Buchholz as well as offering service to Wittingen, Bad Harzburg, Soltau and Wolfenbuttel.
