About ÖBB
ÖBB is Austria's state owned train company and was formed in 1947. Austrian trains are known for being clean, frequent and very punctual, with about 96% trains running on time. ÖBB is one of Austria's greenest companies, and transport around 1.3 million passengers a day.
ÖBB offer several sleeper trains connecting across Austria, Czech Republic and Germany.

Booking ÖBB Tickets with Omio

ÖBB Ticket Types
- Standard Ticket: Valid for 2 days after purchase, and free to reimburse before the first day of validity.
- Comfort-Ticket:
- Valid for the chosen day and/or on the night train selected. Free refund 15 days before travel and 50% refund before the chosen day of travel.
- ÖBB Sparschiene-Ticket: Cheapest ticket offered by OBB. Must be used on the chosen day of travel and on the chosen train. Tickets are non-refundable.
- ÖBB Sparschiene Comfort-Ticket: Must be used on the chosen day of travel and on the chosen train. Free refund 15 days before travel and 50% refund before the chosen day of travel.

ÖBB Class Types
With OBB there are three class types
- Economy Class: A choice between open carriages and compartments, Luggage Racks, WiFi, Electric Outlets, Air Conditioning.
- First Class: Adjustable seats, More legroom, Cabin Service, Luggage Racks, WiFi, Electic Outlets.
- Business Class: Largest space of legroom, Folding tables, Reading lamps, Wi-Fi, Personal Electrical Outlets, Cabin Service.
ÖBB - Frequently Asked Questions
Can I take my bicycle on board a ÖBB train?
Bike are permitted on board ÖBB trains but they must have a ticket. If you are traveling in Austria then you must buy a bicycle ticket, which costs 10% of a full price ticket 2nd class for the route (a minimum fee of € 2.- applies). If you will be traveling more often then you can also purchase a weekly or monthly ticket. If you are traveling internationally, then you will need to buy a 'Biking International Ticket' for a flat rate of 12 Euros.
On regional trains, you cannot reserve a bike place but if there is space then you can take it onboard. For long-distance travel, you must reserve a space for your bike and it will cost around 3 euros.
Bikes over (185 cm x 110 cm x 60 cm, tire size from 29 inches) must be put in a special carriage.

Can Children Travel for Free?
- Children under 6: Travel for free
- Children between 6 and 15: Travel for half price
- 15 and over: Full Price
Parents, grandparents and guardians can also benefit from cheaper travel when with children.
