The Journey from London to Bruges

Travelling from London to Bruges is possible via train or coach, as well as by plane/ train via Brussels. The most convenient option is by train with Eurostar which involves one change in Brussels. Coaches require no change and offer the best value for money, but take double the journey time.

Buses from London to Bruges

Buses are one option when travelling from London to Bruges and are operated by Eurolines who offer one service per day. Total journey time is 6.5 hours with buses arriving at Brugges Station. Coach journeys include a channel crossing via the Channel Tunnel.

Trains from London to Bruges

Arriving by train is a convenient option for travelling from London to Bruges. Eurostar operate a up to ten daily services direct from St Pancras International to Brussels, where passengers can change at Brussels-Midi to one of the frequent regional NMBS/SNCB trains. Total journey time is around 3.5 hours. Trains arrive in Bruges Station which is located close to the centre of the city.

Flights from London to Bruges

There are no direct flights from London to Ostend-Bruges Airport. Those arriving by plane will need to take a flight from London to Brussels and then board a train to Bruges directly from the airport. British Airways operate up to six flights a day, with most flights departing from Heathrow and a few per week from Gatwick. Brussels Airlines fly twice per day from London Heathrow to Brussels. Total journey time can take upwards of three hours.
