The whole train journey from Cologne to Hamburg was pleasant. I sat by the window, which allowed me to observe the constantly changing landscape during the journey. Although the train was full, the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. There was a slight delay, but the train crew quickly made a friendly announcement explaining the situation and relaxing the atmosphere. I grabbed a small snack in the on-board restaurant, which was delicious. I really enjoyed the service. All in all, it was a great journey.

IconOvercrowded in places
We travelled and took part in a cruise. This connection was the best option for us as a family. What I liked best was that we didn't have to drive the whole way by car. That's really exhausting for small children in town. They can move around much more freely on the train, which reduces stress levels enormously. What I didn't like was that the train was unpunctual. I also didn't like the fact that a seat is not automatically sold with every train ticket sold. This sometimes leads to overcrowded trains. That shouldn't be the case. In France, for example, a train ticket is only ever sold in combination with a seat. Most of the toilets were clean. Some were completely locked. We didn't use Wi-Fi or entertainment on board and only used the on-board restaurant for a coffee.

I had to travel to Hamburg for a training course. I deliberately decided to travel by Deutsche Bahn so that I could get some work done on the way. This worked out very well for me, as there was good wifi. Although I didn't have a reservation, I found a good seat right next to a power socket for my laptop. The train was very punctual and very clean.

I travelled on the ICE 108 and had different impressions. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the train left a lot to be desired. My seat was covered in crumbs and the aisle wasn't completely clean either. That was a little sobering. However, I was pleased with the pleasant temperature in the carriage. The temperature was pleasant and it was neither too hot nor too cold, which made the journey quite relaxed overall. The comfortable seats allowed me to relax well.

Unfortunately, the train journey was not particularly pleasant. The train arrived late and it didn't get any better on the way. I missed my connection and had to wait a long time. It was quite noisy in the compartment, many fellow travellers were on the phone or listening to music without headphones. Wifi was available, but the connection was constantly lost. The toilets were in poor condition. The view was at least nice, but that's not enough to save the overall impression. I hope it will be better next time.

The ICE journey was particularly pleasant due to the quiet atmosphere in the carriage. It was quiet, with few conversations or distractions, which was ideal for reading or working. I was able to relax and enjoy the journey. The seats were comfortable and there was plenty of space. The lighting was also pleasant, it wasn't too harsh. The staff were very courteous and polite. Recommendation.

I made the journey in November last year and commuted very regularly between Cologne and Hamburg during that time. I deliberately left my car on this route, as it is much quicker to travel by ICE train than by car. The train was also relatively punctual on the vast majority of journeys and the route works surprisingly well within the network.

I travelled by ICE from Cologne to Hamburg this morning. As this weekend is a long weekend and Monday is a public holiday, the trains and the station were very full. The train was a little late, but arrived in Hamburg on time. The staff were very friendly and courteous. There was an on-board bistro on the train which made the journey very pleasant. The stations in Hamburg and Cologne are centrally located.

The journey was very pleasant overall. The train arrived on time and I had a seat by the window with plenty of legroom. The wifi was stable enough for wifi, but it wouldn't have been enough for video conferencing. The toilet was clean at the start of the journey, but unfortunately not so later on. There was no on-board bistro, but I had provisions with me. Compared to the car, the journey was much more relaxed, no traffic jams, no stress. A small deduction for cleanliness and wifi.

Since I wanted to visit my girlfriend in Hamburg, I got a ticket at Cologne Central Station and that's also where my journey began. Buying the ticket was very easy and the price was also very reasonable. The wifi wasn't the strongest, but the sockets at the seats worked perfectly. The hygiene or toilets were clean and you felt comfortable. The negative thing about the whole journey was that the train had to stop several times, so I arrived in Hamburg later than planned. Nevertheless, the journey was very positive and I can't complain.

I cycled from Cologne to Hamburg by Intercity about a year ago. The journey itself was totally pleasant and I had no problem with delays. Travelling by train from Cologne to Hamburg is a convenient way to travel between the two cities. The route offers beautiful views and the trains are usually punctual and comfortable. However, I must mention that the price of the journey is not cheap, especially if you don't book in advance. This is a bit disappointing as you would expect higher quality and better service for the price. Nevertheless, train travel is a good option for travellers who value convenience and reliability. However, if one is on a tight budget, one should consider alternative means of transport.

Travelling by train from Cologne to Hamburg is generally a pleasant and comfortable way to travel. The route leads through picturesque landscapes and offers charming views of the surrounding nature. The trains are usually modern and well-equipped, with comfortable seats and ample space for luggage. The journey time is usually about 3 hours, depending on the train connection and the number of stops. However, I must mention that the price of the journey is often not particularly cheap, especially if you cannot take advantage of any discounts or special offers. It is therefore advisable to compare prices in advance and possibly consider alternative transport options to save money. All in all, I would describe the journey by train from Cologne to Hamburg as recommendable, as long as you are prepared to pay a little more for the comfort and convenience.

There were plenty of sockets, I had four sockets at my table and also free wifi, I felt like I was in 1st class. Otherwise, the reservation went off without a hitch and the staff were very nice and friendly. The toilets were also very clean and spacious.

Got a ticket for me from Cologne to Hamburg, as I wanted to meet up with an old friend for a concert. Buying the tickets was very quick and pleasant. That was certainly the only positive thing about the journey. Arriving on the train and during the journey, everything had turned negative. Wifi was not available, the power sockets on both sides were not working and so was the catering. The staff was hardly approachable and there was no hygiene at all at the restaurant. The toilets were full of people who were drunk. On top of that, the train arrived late at the port. Not to be recommended. Yet you only hear good things about the ICE.

The journey in the ICE from Cologne to Hamburg was a positive experience overall. The train staff were very friendly and helpful, which contributed to a pleasant atmosphere. The train's facilities, including comfortable seats and modern entertainment options, also contributed to the feeling of well-being. One drawback, however, was the price, which was not as reasonable as one is used to on other train journeys. Nevertheless, it can be said that it was a good choice, especially because of the comfort and efficiency of the train. Overall, the train journey by ICE from Cologne to Hamburg can be recommended.

The train ride was great. The seats were comfortable and it was easy to endure the journey. There was a power socket next to the seats and you had access to wifi. In addition, the train was very tidy, the toilets were clean and so was the Biden, even the seats were very comfortable for the journey. I had the possibility to take my bike with me and therefore enough space. The train was also very punctual and very cheap for this route. However, the conductor was very rude, because he hit on me because of my bike.

I travelled from Cologne to Hamburg by train. I was in Hamburg with my best friend to start a men's weekend there. The first negative thing was that the train unfortunately didn't arrive on time. Apart from that, I only have positive things to say about the journey. The ICE made a super well-maintained impression, whether it was the seating areas or the sanitary facilities. The on-board staff were very helpful and friendly. The journey went quickly and without any further disruptions. I would choose this connection again at any time.

Disadvantages
IconToilet dirty
Surprisingly, there were no problems on this journey from Pulheim via Cologne to Hamburg. The train was on time and the journey was pleasant and relaxed. The only downside was the dirty toilets. Very good value for money thanks to the super saver price. Definitely much less stressful than travelling the same distance by car. Charging station at every seat. The free Internet on the ICE was also good.
Advantages

IconLong journey
My train journey from Cologne to Hamburg was consistently positive and offered a pleasant experience. I was impressed with the interior of the trains, with comfortable seats, plenty of legroom and handy power sockets for my electronic devices. Being able to stand up and move around freely during the journey added significantly to my overall comfort. The service staff were friendly and competent. I felt well looked after and the clear communication of information contributed to the relaxed atmosphere. The central railway stations in Cologne and Hamburg made access and onward travel easy, which had a positive impact on my overall journey. The cleanliness of the trains was satisfactory. The regular cleaning of the toilets and well-kept compartments contributed to a pleasant travelling experience. One small criticism could be the limited choice on board, but the option to bring your own food mitigated this aspect. I found the value for money to be fair, although ticket prices can vary depending on when you book. Compared to other modes of transport such as the aeroplane, the train journey may be slightly more expensive. Nevertheless, I was convinced by the added value in terms of environmental friendliness and comfort, which makes this travel option a recommendable choice for me. Overall, my train journey from Cologne to Hamburg was a pleasant and environmentally friendly way to travel. The good facilities, comfort, friendly service, central location of the stations and acceptable cleanliness make this travel option particularly attractive for travellers who value sustainability and a relaxed journey.
Advantages

Disadvantages

The train was very clean and looked well maintained. The toilets were relatively hygienic, but could have been a little cleaner. Power sockets and wifi were available on the train. Both worked perfectly. The restaurant was open and had many different dishes and drinks on the menu. There were also some vegetarian and vegan dishes. There were plenty of seats available. It would also have been possible to reserve a seat. As usual, I didn't have to change trains between Cologne and Hamburg (ICE). The journey took about 4 hours. Unfortunately, the ICE was delayed by 60 minutes. However, the train staff were very communicative and explained the delay. Nevertheless, the train is a good alternative to travelling by car.
Advantages
IconSuper service
IconVery clean
IconGood equipment
Disadvantages
IconTrain delay
IconSeats could have been more comfortable
My overall impression of the train journey from Cologne to Hamburg was positive. The staff on the train were extremely courteous and the cleanliness of the train left nothing to be desired. Everything looked good, well-kept and inviting. Especially the toilets, which I hadn't really expected. The train's facilities were also responsible for the fact that the journey was so pleasant for me. What would I have done without wifi and power sockets? The seats were a little hard, but offered enough legroom. The option to buy snacks on the journey was also really handy. However, there were also some negative points. The fact that the train was delayed by a whole 14 minutes was very annoying. For my journey in particular, arriving on time was really important, which is why I was very disappointed. Another point of criticism, as already mentioned above, was the seats. Despite being large enough, they did not offer the desired level of comfort. A slightly softer upholstery of the seats would have made the journey noticeably more pleasant for me. To summarise, the train journey from Cologne to Hamburg was quite pleasant but, as always, there is room for improvement. I mean improvements in terms of punctuality and seating comfort. Nevertheless, in my opinion, it is a recommendable way to travel.
