How to get to Coventry by Train
Coventry, in the English Midlands, is one of the major links between London, with four trains per hour to Euston, and to Birmingham, with seven trains per hour. The information service is open for 24 hours per day, seven days per week. A first class lounge, with business areas, fax machines, photocopiers, and phone points is open at the station. ATMs, toilets, baby changing areas, refreshment areas and WiFi are all available. The station operates on the West Coast Main Line and is run by Virgin Trains, with some assistance from CrossCountry. Buses 8, 8a, 9, 9a, 11 and 12 run from the station to the university and the city centre.
Coventry
The area dates back to the Bronze age and relics can be seen around the town. A historic attraction here are the ruins of Coventry Cathedral, destroyed during World War 2. Visitors to the Cathedral will also enjoy the War Memorial Park. If you prefer more ancient history, visit the site where Lady Godiva rode through the city to protest taxes imposed by her husband, and check out the effigy of Peeping Tom. St Mary's Hall was built in the 14th century although it is possible that parts of the Hall date back to the 12th century. For a more restful walk visit Lady Herbert's Gardens which lie between the Gates of Swanswell and Cook Street.
