Trains for Coventry depart from Birmingham New Street, the city's biggest and most central rail hub. Located in the very heart of Birmingham, close to the cathedral and town hall, the station can be easily reached on foot or by bus from anywhere in the city. Birmingham New Street can also be accessed via train from other stations in Birmingham, notably Moor Street and Snow Hill as well as via a number of bus routes. Buses stop around midnight after which time taxi services are available throughout the night.
Coventry is famous for its blend of historic buildings and post-war developments, notably the Cathedral whcih is formed of a Medieval tower and a 1960's rebuild. As a regional mecca for shopping and with good proximity to noteworthy castles including Warwick and Kenilworth, Coventry is a popular Midlands destination. Trains from Birmingham arrive at Coventry Railway Station which is found just to the south of the city centre. From the station its easy to reach much of central Coventry on foot, although there are also a number of bus services from the station including routes 8,9,11 and 12. Those arriving after 11:00 p.m. will find a choice of taxi services are available from the station.
