SeatLast week I travelled from Cologne to Bonn on business with the ICE 155 and can absolutely recommend this route by train because of the time advantage compared to driving. Unfortunately I didn't get a seat, but I hadn't booked a seat reservation and the journey only takes 15 minutes, so a seat is not absolutely necessary.

However, as the journey only takes 15-20 minutes, a seat reservation is not absolutely necessary. As the train was very comfortable to get from Cologne to Bonn, I would always recommend the trip.

Unfortunately, however, the train was already 20 minutes late when it arrived in Cologne main station. Nevertheless, the train connection between Cologne and Bonn has an absolute time advantage over the car, as the car takes considerably longer than 20 minutes to cover the same distance during rush hour. Without the delay, I would have given the train connection five stars.
