Bonn Hauptbahnhof, the main station servicing the city, lies on the Cologne-Mainz line. This central station is connected to other German cities by intercity rail services. Direct trains to Bonn are not available from London. However, the Eurostar runs a six-day service from St Pancras Station to Brussels. Passengers can use the Intercity-Express or the Thalys to continue the journey to Cologne. Regional-Express trains at Cologne continue on to Bonn. The Bonn Station is located directly opposite the city centre and near the bus station. An underground tram service exists within the station premises in addition to rental bikes and taxi hire options.

The Alexander Koenig Museum is rated as one of the best natural history museum in Germany. It has an impressive collection of stuffed birds and animals, including some rare species. The Bonner Munster is a Roman and Gothic architectural masterpiece. This 12 century Basilica was originally a shrine dedicated to two martyrs from the Roman army. The sculptures depicting the heads of the St Cassius and St Florentius adorn the entrance of the five tower cathedral.
