Travellers coming from Paris can catch flights to Florence any day of the year. During the week, there are two to eight direct options and there are eight flights on both Saturdays and Sundays. Departure airport: Flights to Florence depart from either Paris Charles de Gaulle or Orly airports. In both cases, the fastest public transportation option is usually the RER B rail link. However, those headed to Orly need to alight at Antony station, and transfer to the ORLYVAL rail link. Because of this, bus links like the Orlybus or Le Bus Direct may be worth investigating. Charles de Gaulle is directly connected to central Paris via the RER B. Passengers should allow 35 minutes for the transfer.
Arrival airport: Flights touch down at Florence Peretola Airport. From there, shuttle buses depart every 30 minutes from around 5:30 a.m. until after midnight and take around 25 minutes to reach Santa Maria Novella train station. The bus stop is easy to spot, right outside the arrivals terminal. Alternatively, passengers will find taxis outside the doors. Car rental is available but travellers will have to take shuttle buses to nearby Via Palagio degli Spini. This shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
