ITA Airways is Italy's national flag carrier, established in 2020 as the successor to Alitalia. Co-owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance and Lufthansa Group, it operates a modern, predominantly Airbus fleet. ITA Airways serves over 70 domestic, European, and intercontinental destinations, with its main hub at Rome Fiumicino Airport. Alitalia History
The national airline of Italy, Alitalia was founded on the 12th March 1999. Alitalia's main hub can found at Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport, in Rome where the airline is also headquartered. The airline is now a part of the UAE based Etihad Airways that took a 49 percent stake in Alitalia starting on 1st January 2015.

The largest airline in Italy, Alitalia is based in Rome and has secondary hubs and focus cities located across Italy in famous cities including Turin, Milan and Venice. The airline has seen an increase in its routes and passenger numbers in recent years, which reached 25 million in 2011. Passengers travelling in the business and Magnifica business classes can take advantage of all Alitalia and Sky Team lounges in airports around the World. Each seat in the majority of Alitalia aircraft provides access to a personal entertainment screen in the rear of the seat.
Alitalia Ticket Types
Alitalia offers its passengers four different classes of tickets to choose from, each with its own specific advantages for passengers. Magnifica business and business classes both offer access to the lounges offered by the airline, Magnifica business class also offers a full reclining bed option and dedicated check-in desks.
