Travel between these two capitals is easy with around twelve direct flights a day leaving Paris' two airports for Berlin. Most direct flights from Paris to Berlin depart Charles de Gaulle Airport and service Berlin's Tegel Airport, at intervals of between one and five hours from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. However, a handful of flights operate out of Paris Orly Airport to Tegel or Schönefeld Airport. The journey lasts between one and a half and two hours, with Air France, Air Berlin, Germanwings and Easyjet being the main operators.
Paris' main airport, Charles de Gaulle, lies approximately 23km northeast of the city centre - a 45 minute journey by car. There are many transport links to the airport, including the train which runs from the city to terminals one and two. The train takes approximately 30 minutes from the heart of Paris and runs from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. There are also regular bus services linking the airport to the city, as well as car rental and taxi services. Paris' second busiest airport, Paris Orly, is located approximately 14km south of the city centre and is serviced by a number of shuttle, bus, train and taxi services. In addition, the RER B train runs through Paris connecting both airports.
Berlin is Germany's cultural heart, with a vibrant arts, music and modern architectural scene. Yet it is also steeped in history, dating back to the 13th century and features many memorials and museums devoted to the Second World War and Cold War, including the Brandenburg Gate and the graffitied remains of the Berlin Wall. Berlin's main international airport is Tegel Airport, lying 8km north-west of Berlin city centre. The quickest way to the city is on the Jet Express Bus TXL to Alexanderplatz which takes 45 minutes or the Jet Express Bus X9 to Zoologischer Garten which takes 20 minutes. A number of other buses connect the airport to the city and the local train and underground stations. There are also taxi and car hire services available.
