Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid (EMT Madrid) is a public company, wholly owned by the Madrid City Council, responsible for urban public transport in Madrid, Spain. Established in 1947, it is the sole bus operator in the city and the largest mobility company in Spain in its sector. EMT Madrid manages a fleet of over 2,000 buses across 223 lines, covering 3,500 kilometers with 10,024 bus stops. By the end of 2022, EMT Madrid achieved a significant milestone by eliminating all diesel buses from its fleet, transitioning to a 100% clean fleet of gas-powered, hybrid, and fully electric buses.
