Travelling on the Avanti West Coast train #VT8227 from London to Liverpool was a real highlight for me! As soon as I boarded at London Euston, the modern and neat design of the Pendolino train caught my eye. The seats were extremely comfortable, offered plenty of legroom and there was ample space for luggage - ideal for a relaxed long-distance journey. The on-board staff were very friendly, attentive and always ready to help. I particularly liked the facilities with free wifi, power sockets at every seat and the clear passenger information on the screens. The on-board bistro had a good selection of snacks and drinks, so I was well catered for. The journey was quiet and pleasant, and the large windows provided great views of the English countryside. The Pendolino's innovative tilting technology ensured that the journey was always comfortable, even on bends. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the sanitary facilities also made a very good impression. The direct connection without changing trains is a big plus - it makes travelling from the capital to the north of England stress-free and uncomplicated. I arrived in Liverpool relaxed and satisfied and would choose this connection again at any time.

What I really liked about my journey from London to Liverpool was that I was able to book my ticket very easily and cheaply online. Nevertheless, the journey took a long time for me. What I liked best was that I didn't have to change trains on my journey. The toilets and the whole train were very clean. I was also impressed by the good free wifi. The good wifi enabled me to watch films online.
Advantages
IconI could stow my luggage neatly
Disadvantages
IconThe floor was slippery
Firstly, I would like to point out that the floor is often wet and slippery when travelling in winter. On the other hand, you can stow your luggage over your head. My journey from London to Liverpool started at 11.43am and ended after two and a half hours at 2.17pm. Apart from the wet floor, the journey in the k 443 was very comfortable. The wifi was free and the overall volume was also very quiet. The staff was friendly and the train was actually clean besides the wet floor. The price could be a little cheaper, but was still fair.

The journey from Liverpool to London actually went smoothly. The journey took place on 2 March at 10:43 on train number 4623 and the train had free wifi and access to power sockets. Which made it possible for me to do some work on my laptop. The train was clean and hygienic, as were the toilets. The duration of the journey was 3 hours. The staff were nice and helpful. They help me with my luggage when boarding.

I travelled from London to Liverpool by train back then. I bought my tickets directly at the station. The timetable was very easy to understand. I was also able to buy the ticket quickly and easily. It was very pleasant on the train itself. The seats were comfortable and clean. The toilets were also clean. The service on board was nice and helpful. The journey went very quickly. In my opinion, good value for money.

Unfortunately, the journey from London to Liverpool was a little disappointing. The ticket was again very cheap and the journey time of 2 hours 30 minutes was fine. However, the journey also had a few drawbacks, the toilets were very unhygienic and I was almost disgusted to use the toilet. The train was very old and unfortunately also very loud, which made it very difficult to relax. Unfortunately the ventilation didn't work and it was very smelly. It was a direct journey.

Disadvantages
IconTrain overcrowded
IconLittle legroom
IconPoor heating
IconSlight delay
The train journey from London to Liverpool on the IC 378 train was fine overall. The journey time of 2 hours and 30 minutes was acceptable, but the comfort was not sufficient. The train was overcrowded so there was hardly any room for luggage and it was uncomfortably cramped. The seats were okay but not particularly comfortable and legroom was limited. The wifi was available but extremely slow and unreliable, which was especially annoying on a longer journey. Also, the train was not well heated so it was quite uncomfortable in the colder areas. The staff were friendly, but the service could not hide the many shortcomings. The train was also a bit late, which worsened the overall impression. Overall, the journey was functional, but the lack of facilities and comfort do not make this connection very attractive, especially compared to other options. There is definitely room for improvement.
