Taking the Train from York

If you are taking trains from York to Leeds, York Railway Station is located just out of the centre of town, about a 15-minute walk from York Minster. Taxis are a good way to reach the station from outlying suburbs like Heslington, but there are connections to the centre and York University as well via bus route 44. The 44 runs from early in the morning to just before midnight.

Getting into Leeds by Train

Leeds is one of the great northern cities - famous for its architecture, culture and sporting prowess. It's also a regional shopping hub and a huge university town as well. The city's major station lies at the heart of town, next to the River Aire. From there, the shops of the centre and attractions like Holy Trinity Church are ten minutes away by foot. Leeds University can be reached via bus number 1 (which takes about 10 minutes) while take buses 51 or 55 to reach Elland Road, the home of Leeds United.
