Trenitalia Intercity is a high-speed train service operated by the Italian national railway company, Trenitalia. It operates throughout the country, with services running from early morning to late evening. The Intercity trains come in two types: the Intercity Plus, which is the fastest and most comfortable, and the Intercity, which is slightly slower but still offers a comfortable journey. There is a regular shuttle, and also a train, to the nearby Pompei ruins; a shuttle is also available to the popular attraction, Mount Vesuvius.
