With the direct connection from Hamburg to Göttingen by ICE, you can save about 1 hour compared to driving. I travelled this route on my trip from Hamburg to Karlsruhe. Despite booking at short notice, I still got a cheap saver fare, even though I travelled on a Friday evening. Unfortunately, the track in Hamburg and later the train were very crowded, it was noisy on the train and we left 30 minutes late. At least it was still quite clean on the train.

IconNice staff

IconHas a WC
Disadvantages
IconPrice was too high
Return journey from Hamburg to Göttingen in the Deutsche Bahn ICE. The journey was quiet and there were enough free seats. The train was air-conditioned and had an on-board bistro. Power sockets and internet (wifi) were available. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The price was a bit too high, had I booked earlier I would have saved, but overall I was happy with the journey.
Advantages
IconPunctual

IconFast journey time
Disadvantages
IconLow-performance wifi
IconLoose contact on the sockets
This train journey was very pleasant and comfortable. The ICE had wifi and power sockets. Unfortunately, the wifi was not that powerful. Some of the sockets had a loose connection. The journey from Hamburg to Göttingen took about two hours. I was very happy with that. It was also nice that the train was very clean and hygienic. The restaurant had many different dishes on offer. There were even vegan and vegetarian dishes. As always, the staff were very friendly. I also found the noise level on the ICE very pleasant. There were also plenty of free seats. It is always possible to reserve a seat on the ICE, provided there are free seats. I didn't have to change trains.

Disadvantages

I travelled from Hamburg to Göttingen and was quite happy with the journey. I didn't reserve a seat and still got one. The journey only took a short two hours. During the journey, I was able to enjoy a delicious coffee in the bistro. The train reached its destination without any delays. The service on board was good. Overall, the train seemed technically very sophisticated and modern.
Advantages
Iconpunctual
Iconpractical
The train connection impressed me with its punctuality. The timetable was adhered to exactly, which made it easier to plan the journey. The cleanliness of the train was mostly good, although some areas appeared slightly neglected. The wifi worked reliably, which was particularly important for me. The toilets were clean, but a fresher scent would be desirable. The seating comfort was average. The seats were adequately cushioned, but more adjustable options could improve comfort. Overall, a good train service that could offer an even more pleasant travelling experience with minor improvements.
Advantages
IconComfortable seats
IconGood service
Disadvantages
IconDirty toilets
My journey from Hamburg to Göttingen was by IC train and was okay so far. The train was a little late, but I still reached my destination on time. The staff on board were very friendly and there was plenty of space for my luggage. The toilets could have been a bit cleaner, they should improve this. The announcements were all easy to understand. The seating comfort was also positive.
Advantages
IconFriendly staff
IconPunctual
Disadvantages
IconNone
I travelled from Hamburg to Göttingen on the ICE and can still remember the journey well. The train wasn't particularly full and I got a seat despite not having a reservation. The bistro was closed, but I had my own coffee with me. As far as I know, there were no delays. None, at least I reached my destination on time. It was clean on board and the staff were always friendly.
