Southampton airport in Easteigh is the starting point for flights from Southampton to Amsterdam. It is easily accessible from surrounding areas. The trip from Southampton Central Railway Station to Southampton Airport Parkway Station takes only 7 minutes, followed by a brief walk across a footbridge to the arrivals terminal. Likewise, the airport is well-served by bus routes both from within Southampton and from outlying towns. The Uni-link U1A service runs between the Central Bus station, the WestQuay shopping centre, the University of Southampton's Wessex Lane Complex and the airport in 25-30 minutes (out of operation 12:40 a.m. to 5:20 a.m. approximately).
Amsterdam is a city like no other, famous for its canals and bridges, its liberal attitudes and its museums full of Dutch art treasures by the likes of Rembrandt and Van Gogh. Amsterdam Schiphol airport, where flights from Southampton terminate, is 14 km south-west of the city. The train station is situated next to the airport on Schiphol Plaza. From there, fast InterCity services run to Amsterdam and Rotterdam, and there's also an hourly night train to destinations such as Utrecht and Delft. The 197 Amsterdam Airport Express bus departs every 15 minutes from platform B9 on Schiphol Plaza, reaching the Rijksmuseum and Leidseplein square in 25 minutes. The N97, a night-time version of the bus, is also available.
