How to Get to Dusseldorf by Bus

There is a direct service from the UK to Dusseldorf in west Germany. These depart from London Victoria Coach Station. The route is operated by the National Express service Eurolines, who also go to 24 other destinations in Germany, including Cologne, Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. Within the UK there are connecting routes to London from all the main towns and cities which run regular daily services. The bus to Dusseldorf is an overnight service that leaves London Victoria at around 10:30 p.m. and takes between eleven and twelve hours to arrive at Dusseldorf Central Bus Station on Worringer Str. From here it is easy to travel around the city using public transport services that include an excellent modern tram service, regular local buses, S-Bahn suburban rail network and the extensive Rheinbahn underground train system that covers virtually every part of Dusseldorf.

Dusseldorf

A major European city and capital of the North Rhine-Westphalia state, Dusseldorf sits on the banks on the magnificent Rhine River which is a spectacular feature of the area. In the 7th and 8th centuries it was the site of fishing villages along the river, but by the 12th century it had developed into a city and since the Industrial Revolution it has continued to establish itself as a leading commercial centre. The industrial harbour area has been redeveloped with some not to be missed eye-catching post-modern architecture, and there are plenty of high quality restaurants, clubs and bars in this now vibrant district. Dusseldorf is renowned for its cultural diversity: from carnivals and Kirmes fun fair to its world-class museums and art galleries including the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen large art collections. The city has a fantastic nightlife and music scene, is a shoppers paradise and is the location for top end trade fairs such as the Boot Messe and Igedo international fashion fair.
