Travelling to Cambridge

Whilst Cambridge does have its own airport, this is mostly used for private flights and training exercises, so it’s generally not the most convenient airport for visitors. However, due its close proximity to London, Stansted Airport is just a half-hour train ride away, or about forty-five minutes by car. Stansted Airport receives many flights coming in and out of the rest of Europe.

Cambridge railway station is extremely well connected to the rest of the country, although many services may require a change in London. Trains between London and Cambridge run twice per hour and takes approximately 50 minutes, as well as direct trains to and from Stansted Airport.

The principal bus station in Cambridge is right in the heart of the city centre and provides services from across the breadth of the country. National Express and Megabus, in particular, run regular and cost-efficient services direct to and from Cambridge, and can be a cheap alternative to rail transport.
