Munich to Innsbruck train with Deutsche Bahn (EC,ICE,RB)

My journey on the Railjet 87 from Munich to Innsbruck was a real highlight! As soon as I boarded the train, I noticed the modern interior of the new Railjet generation: Everything is in top condition, the seats are very comfortable and offer plenty of space - really pleasant even for longer journeys. The generous feeling of space and the large windows make the journey through the Alps a special experience. The low-floor entrances are particularly practical, making it much easier to board and alight with luggage or pushchairs. There are also separate areas for families and a children's play corner, which I think is very well thought out. The free wifi worked reliably and there are power sockets at every seat, so I was able to work easily while travelling. The train staff were friendly, attentive and multilingual - you immediately feel that you are in good hands. The on-board restaurant had a good selection of food and drinks, which were served fresh and quickly. The overall atmosphere on the train was relaxed and calm. The journey itself was punctual and the route through the Inn Valley and the Alps is simply beautiful - a real experience that you can only enjoy on a train. I arrived in Innsbruck relaxed and refreshed.

Otherwise, the seats were comfortable and there were plenty of power sockets and a stable internet connection. Overall, I can recommend the route as I didn't have to change trains.

On such a longer journey, comfort and equipment are particularly important to me, and these were definitely provided. My seat was clean, I had enough legroom and my seat was cosy. There was no lack of facilities either, both wifi and power sockets were available. The train also kept to the timetable and arrived on time. I didn't have to change trains. The ICE journey from Munich to Innsbruck was excellent. The service was first class, the seats comfortable and the train clean. Once there, I was very surprised by the wifi. But there are also negative points. Firstly, the train is very unpunctual. We had to wait half an hour longer on the platform because the train was late. However, the hour and a half journey was not too long. In general, a relaxing journey through a beautiful landscape.

I was travelling on the EC 87 for about two hours. It was pleasantly quiet on the train, but a bit dirty, especially at the entrance doors. But otherwise I found the journey quite nice, especially the beautiful view from the train. I was able to concentrate on my work.

The toilet was also in perfect condition. There was a socket that could be used for charging. I didn't have to change trains and stayed seated on the train. It was very quiet, so I could relax and work.

I would like to emphasise that the train was on time to the minute. It is also important to say that the staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to answering questions. The toilets and the compartment were kept very hygienic and clean. There were no problems when buying the ticket and the price was very fair. Finally, I would like to mention that I give it five stars and recommend the journey.

I travelled to Innsbruck on the EC81. As I usually only travel on ICE trains, I wasn't expecting much from a regional train, so I wasn't disappointed. Unfortunately, the hygiene wasn't really good as there was still rubbish on the floors and service is something you rarely see on regional trains. Otherwise, the journey was quite pleasant and I was also satisfied with the price I paid

Just a few weeks ago I had to travel from Munich to Innsbruck. Unfortunately, the train didn't arrive on time at all. It was so badly delayed that I missed my connecting train. The train was also very full and I didn't have a very comfortable seat. Apart from that, there was an overpriced on-board bistro, which meant I could at least eat. There was also good wifi on board. All in all, a good train connection.

I travelled from Munich via Salzburg to Innsbruck on the RJX 63 and RJX 864 railjets. The journey time for the first leg was just over an hour and a half, the second an hour and three quarters. The trains were on time, so I had plenty of time to explore the beautiful city of Salzburg. It was just a shame that the lockers at the station were quite expensive. On the train itself, I enjoyed the comfort and quiet in 1st class, the seats were comfortable and offered plenty of space. It was very clean. I had used my Interrail ticket, for which I didn't need a seat reservation.
