The train journey in May was very pleasant overall. The train was very clean and the staff from all companies were extremely friendly. Unfortunately, the journey ended up being a little late. I booked the ticket at relatively short notice and paid €66 (with BahnCard). Price is fine, even if a bit expensive ...

Reason for travelling: I travelled from Munich to Budapest on the morning of 28 December to celebrate New Year's Eve. Connection and decision: The train connection with two changes - first in Salzburg, then in Vienna - was one of the cheapest options overall and easy to plan. A direct train would have been possible, but I didn't want to spend so much money on the ticket. This connection was also well timed. Positive and negative aspects: The best thing was that the whole journey went smoothly - all the trains were on time and the changes were straightforward. There were no problems worth mentioning. The only thing that was less pleasant was having to change trains twice, but even that was manageable as the transfer times were sufficient. Travelling time: I travelled in the morning, which was fine - the trains weren't overcrowded and you still had the whole day ahead of you. Comfort: The journey was comfortable overall - the longer sections were particularly enjoyable, with comfortable seats and a quiet atmosphere. Cleanliness: All trains and toilets were clean - even towards the end of the journey the condition was still fine. Wifi & facilities: I used Wi-Fi en route - in the Austrian trains it mostly worked well, in the Hungarian ones the connection was rather weak or non-existent. Charging functions were available in some carriages, but I didn't use them. Punctuality: All trains were on time, which is not a matter of course on a longer journey with transfers - very positive! Service: The service was fine - unobtrusive but reliable. The staff on the ÖBB trains in particular were friendly and helpful. Catering: I didn't use the on-board restaurant, although there probably was one. So I can't say anything about it. Value for money: I paid for the ticket via PayPal. For the relatively long journey with good punctuality and acceptable comfort, the price was completely justified. I think the price-performance ratio was very good.

I went on holiday by train from Munich to Budapest a few weeks ago. I was very happy with the comfort and wifi. What I didn't like was that you had to change trains quite often, which caused a certain amount of stress. The hygiene of the toilets was also not particularly good. But overall, I am very satisfied with the price-performance ratio.

I was planning to take a trip to Budapest in Hungary with my family this summer and decided to take the very cheap version of train travel there. I am very satisfied with the service overall and the journey was also very comfortable overall. Only unfortunately I am bothered by the poor internet on board and the poor toilet hygiene, which lowers the comfort a bit.

Some time ago, I was visiting friends and was therefore travelling from Munich to Budapest. The transfer options were great, but unfortunately not entirely stress-free. And unfortunately, you couldn't watch films properly on any of the trains without constant wifi interruptions. Unfortunately, hygiene was not always perfect either. Nevertheless, one can say that the staff and the general comfort on board was great. All in all, it's a great value for money for me anyway.

The train journey from Munich to Budapest offers an unforgettable journey through picturesque landscapes and fascinating cities. The well-constructed roads lead through Bavaria, Austria and Hungary and invite you to make cultural discoveries. A recommendable route for nature and culture lovers. The hygiene is very good, as is the friendliness of everyone.
Advantages

Disadvantages
IconPoor wifi connection
About 2 weeks ago I took the train to Budapest and what I can say about the journey is that the facilities were definitely not that good because the wifi connection was quite unstable, but it was very pleasant and comfortable in terms of volume, seats and so on. As for the service, I can say that they were always helpful with questions, but I found them very rude because one of the staff talked to me quite rudely. The hygiene was good for me and the train was also very punctual and left on time. The price-performance ratio is also very good. So all in all, a pretty successful trip

This ride was very pleasant. The toilets were clean, as were the seats and tables. The staff were very nice. The power sockets at the seats worked and so did the wifi. The train was on time and arrived at its destination on time. The seats were comfortable for the long journey, the only negative being too many passengers.
Advantages
IconSatisfactory equipment
IconComfortable seats
IconFriendly service
IconFair price-performance ratio
IconThe train arrived on time
Disadvantages
IconThe air conditioning was unfortunately broken/not working properly
IconThe cleanliness was not as good as hoped in some places
My journey by train from Munich to Budapest was mixed and left me with various impressions. The interior of the train was satisfactory overall. The seats offered sufficient comfort, although the air conditioning did not always work reliably and caused the temperature to vary. The service on board was friendly, helpful and courteous, which was really nice. The cleanliness of the train was fine for the most part, although some areas could have done with a more thorough clean. I found the value for money to be fair. The ticket price reflected the facilities and service on offer. The journey time was acceptable and the arrival in Budapest was on time. This contributed to my overall positive experience despite these shortcomings. To summarise, the train from Munich to Budapest is a solid option. However, an improvement in the air conditioning and more thorough cleaning could greatly improve the travelling experience, especially for such a long journey. It was a nice experience.
Advantages
IconFriendly staff
IconVery clean
IconGood price
IconSatisfactory comfort
Disadvantages
IconNo Internet
The train journey from Munich to Budapest left a very good impression on me. The cleanliness of the train was impressive, and the friendly staff were also really nice and always obliging, so I didn't even have to ask for a cup of tea. The price of the ticket also seemed fair to me, especially considering the comfort offered throughout the journey. The seats were extremely cosy and the service on board, as I just mentioned, left nothing to be desired. Unfortunately, there was one downside to the journey: the internet connection on the train was unstable. And that was really annoying. Not having wifi for the entire journey, it's unbelievable that this still exists in this day and age. Despite this minor disadvantage, however, the overall positive impression of the train journey outweighed it and I would recommend it without hesitation. But that's only because it was this one-off journey where there was no wifi. I would never recommend a journey on this long route without wifi.
