The journey from Leipzig to Zwickau was on regional express 26115 in second class. The train was very full that day and there were no free seats. In addition, the train was not particularly clean and there was an unpleasant smell in the air. On the positive side, the train was on time. All in all, a practical, if not special, travel experience.

IconTrain was packed to the brim and there were only a few seats
The journey from Leipzig to Zwickau was acceptable, but also, only if you have the right people with you. We travelled from Leipzig to Zwickau in the period 08.07-20.08.2023, often the train was packed to the brim and there were few to no seats. But if you were quick, you automatically had a seat. There was no wifi or power socket on the train. So you had to make do with your mobile data, but there was no reception in some places. The toilets didn't look very well kept, but neither did the whole train. We travelled 1h30 min (supposedly), but there were frequent delays, so we often arrived home 15-20 min later than planned. The staff were very friendly and tried to smile as much as possible, although you could tell that some of them didn't like their job. This train journey was not the worst, but not the best either. We decided to buy a holiday ticket for €34.50 and it is extremely good value for money.
Advantages
IconA standard train connection that surprised me
Disadvantages
IconNone
The train journey from Leipzig to Zwickau was satisfactory overall. Accessibility at Leipzig station was well provided, with ramps and lifts for wheelchair users. The train was on time and clean. The toilet and the bistro were in a decent condition, but the selection of food and drinks in the bistro could be improved. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were power points at the seats, which was handy. The seats were comfortable but some could have better padding. Overall a pleasant travel experience.

I travelled with the regional express 26115 from Leipzig to Zwickau. The journey was in second class, seats could not be reserved, on this day the train was really uncomfortably full. I was all the more pleased about the short journey time. It wasn't particularly clean on board either, the floor was sticky. The train was on time. All in all, a useful, if not particularly comfortable, way to travel.

Disadvantages
IconWifi did not work well
The train journey from Leipzig to Zwickau was on regional express 26115 and was mostly positive. The seats were comfortable and offered enough space. The train was clean, although some areas such as the toilets could have been cleaner. The journey time was reasonable, just under an hour. The wifi unfortunately does not work reliably, which was disappointing. I can still recommend this connection.

Disadvantages
IconNot clean
I travelled from Leipzig to Zwickau with the regional express 26115, this time in second class. A seat reservation was not possible here. The train left Leipzig on time and also arrived in Zwickau on time, which is positive. On the negative side, the train was relatively dirty. The windows were dirty and the floor was sticky. The journey was also a bit long, as it took around 1.5 hours. The price was okay.
Advantages
IconFriendly staff
IconPleasant volume
IconGood comfort
Disadvantages
IconDirty passenger compartment
IconUnhygienic toilets
IconWifi connection was missing
IconTrain announcements did not work (2nd train)
This time I travelled from Leipzig to Zwickau via Chemnitz to avoid having to use the rail replacement service. Unfortunately, I found that the trains were very dirty and the toilets did not look very hygienic. Besides, the wifi connection was missing in the second train, as were all the announcements that were supposed to announce the next stop and the next connections. Otherwise, both trains were comfortable to travel in and the service was friendly and helpful as usual. The occupancy rate on both trains was moderate and the noise level was therefore acceptable.
Advantages

Disadvantages
IconNot clean
I travelled from Leipzig to Zwickau on regional express 26115. It was not possible to reserve a seat on this train. I travelled second class. The train was on time. The journey time was a bit long, over an hour. The train made many stops. I can't say that the train was particularly clean. The windows were dirty and the floor was a bit sticky. I think the journey by IC is better.
Advantages
IconPunctual departure
Disadvantages
IconVolume on the train
The train ride from Leipzig to Zwickau was quite comfortable overall. The seats were sufficiently padded and offered enough legroom. There was also enough luggage unloading to safely stow my luggage. The air conditioning on the train was pleasant and provided a comfortable temperature during the journey. The train journey was overall quiet and relaxed, with no major jolts or noise problems. Price performance of the train ride from Leipzig to Zwickau reasonable. The fare afterwards compared to other means of transport again in the car or bus. In addition bread a reliable and punctual connection between the two cities, which justified the price.
Advantages
IconCheap
IconTrain was empty
IconOn time
Disadvantages
IconLong travel time
I travelled the route from Leipzig to Zwickau with the regional express 26115. A reservation could not be made, but the train was empty anyway. The train was not delayed for the entire journey. It was a somewhat tough journey that took just under 1.5 hours. The train itself was reasonably clean and well maintained. The ticket was quite cheap. The train did not have wifi.
