Arriva Trains Wales - Ticket Types

Arriva Trains Wales offer four types of tickets - Anytime, Advance, Off-Peak, and Super-Off Peak. You can find a larger description of each ticket type below. Each ticket holder is allowed up to two pieces of large luggage.

Anytime Ticket

This ticket type is generally more expensive than the other types, but travellers with this ticket can travel at any time of day, including peak time. This is a good ticket type to have when passengers are uncertain about their time of travel.

Advance Ticket

The advance ticket is specifically for a single/return journey. It is non-refundable, however it can be amended for up to 28 days before travel.

Off-Peak Ticket

These tickets are more limited as travellers can only travel during certain times of the day, but are usually considerably cheaper than the Anytime tickets. The type of train does not affect the ticket, only the time of day. Travellers should check with Arriva Trains Wales, or at the station that they are travelling with the right ticket before starting their journey.

Super Off-Peak Ticket

These tickets hold the most restrictions, with a smaller window of time when travellers can travel during the day. These tickets normally cannot be used to travel during general rush-hour times, but are the cheapest ticket to purchase.
