Dan-Air was a British airline established in 1953 as a subsidiary of Davies and Newman, a London-based shipbroking firm. It began with a single aircraft and initially focused on cargo and passenger charter flights. Over its 39-year history, Dan-Air expanded significantly, becoming Britain's largest independent airline by the mid-1970s in terms of passengers and fleet size.
