There are at least two dozen flights a day from Budapest to Prague. At least four of these are direct flights with short flight times of between one hour 10 minutes and 1.5 hours. All other departures involve one connection and combined flight times of between one hour 40 minutes and up to 4.5 hours. A similar schedule operates seven days a week although the time of the last departure varies slightly. All departures are from Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport with arrivals at Prague Vaclav Havel Airport.
Direct flights to Prague from Budapest are operated by Ryanair and the Czech airline CSA. Airlines offering connecting routes include Austrian, Lufthansa, LOT, KLM, Alitalia, SWISS and AIRFRANCE.
Direct flights between the cities of Budapest and Prague take from just over one hour to approximately 1.5 hours while connecting services have combined flight times of up to 4.5 hours depending on the airline and route taken. Connections are made at airports such as Vienna, Munich, Warsaw-Chopin, Brussels, Zurich and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
A similar schedule operates throughout the week with departures commencing in the early morning and continuing until mid to late evening. There are at least four daily direct flights and up to 20 or more connecting services. Some evening departures do not arrive until the following day depending on transfer times en route.
Departure airport: All flights to Prague from Budapest depart from Budapest Ference Liszt International Airport (BUD) which is located approximately 10 miles from Budapest city centre. Taxis, buses and rail services link it to the city. Airport facilities include car parking, car hire desks, currency exchange and wifi along with shops, cafes and restaurants.
Arrival airport: Flights from Budapest to Prague land at Prague Vaclav Havel Airport (PRG). The airport is seven miles from central Prague. A regular shuttle bus runs from the airport to Prague city centre. A railway link is currently being constructed. Airport services include taxi ranks, car parking, car hire desks, wifi, an interactive games area for all ages, shops, cafes and restaurants.
