Brussels Airport, also known as Zaventem, is the country’s main air traffic hub receiving the largest amount of flights to Belgium. Other regional airports such as Charleroi, Antwerp, Ostend and Liege also offer flights to various destinations around Europe. As Belgium is a relatively small country in general, travelling by train in Belgium is by far the most common way to get around the country. Brussels Airlines is Belgium’s national and largest airline. Since 2014, the airline has focused its efforts on its low-cost formula to better compete with the likes of easyJet and Ryanair who both offer cheap flights to Belgium across Europe.
