About Chamonix

Located in the pristine French Alps, Chamonix ski resort offers long, tree-dotted ski runs, and beginners slopes. The beautiful Chamonix valley is well known for its striking views and the highest peak in the Alps: Mont Blanc, known to some as ""the roof of Europe"". Valley Blanche is the longest off-piste run in Europe. In 1924 the resort hosted the first winter Olympics. The Free Ride World Tour is held in January.

Chamonix Facilities

Ski and snowboarding instruction for children and adults is offered at the resort. The resort offers free Wi-Fi, restaurants and disabled access - in fact Chamonix is the first alpine tourist office to gain the official seal of approval for disabled tourism. How to Get to Chamonix

The resort is located in the Chamonix valley. The nearest airport is Geneva which is located about 100 km away. Transport options from the airport include shared minibus transfers, private car, buses or private taxis.

Trains to Chamonix

Trains run from the airport to Chamonix. Trains need to be changed at St Gervais/Le Fayet. From here travellers can take a train to the resort.

Buses to Chamonix

City buses run from the airport every two hours and offer a scenic alternative.

Driving to Chamonix

There are good safe routes from Geneva, London, Paris, Milan and Turin to the resort. Chamonix is located 80km from Geneva. From there, take the A40 motorway.

Ski Season and Passes

Ski season runs from December to May. The ""Unlimited"" pass allows access to Mont Blanc's highest slopes as well as slopes in neighbouring Italy and Switzerland. Chamonix's ""Le Pass"" is a pass for the 3 pistes and beginners slopes or you can purchase the Rapidcard. A Rapidcard allows you to pay as you ski. The Mont-Blanc Multipass offers lift access and entry to the Luge Coaster.
