How to Get to Sunderland by Train

Sunderland Station is conveniently situated in the city centre of Sunderland, North East England. Northern Rail provides an off-peak service of one train per hour between Sunderland and Newcastle in both directions. Grand Central has services to and from Sunderland from London Kings Cross via Hartlepool, Eaglescliffe, Northallerton, Thirsk and York. The station also has a metropolitan service to other stations in the city. Buses are available from just outside the station, as are taxi cabs.
