Thanks to the popularity of this route, you'll find several trains travelling throughout the day between these destinations. Your first train will start each morning around 06:15 a.m. and there will be a couple of trains per hour between then and the last train departure around 09:58 p.m. each evening. There are roughly 27 trains per day covering the 79 miles (127 km) between the two main stations. Trenitalia operates approximately 25 of these trains, while Italo usually only has two trains operating this route on a normal day.

Arrival train station: When travelling between these two cities, you'll have the choice of four different arrival stations. Venice Mestre, which is a large train station fitted with all the basic amenities. This station is located on the mainland and not directly in the city centre of Venice. If you're staying on the outskirts, this is a better option. The three night train options travel to either Mestre, Venezia Porto Marghera, or Venezia Carpenedo train stations. The more frequent options all travel to Santa Lucia, which is the main train station serving the city of Venice. located in the heart of the city. The station is home to a wide variety of amenities including numerous eateries, bars, and restaurants, as well as ATMs, luggage storage, a first_class Trenitalia lounge and a standard_class Italo lounge for all passengers.
When travelling this route, your trip will be operated by one of two train operators. Italo or Trenitalia. Trenitalia offers the more frequent options, with around 25 daily trains operating between these two destinations. If you're travelling with Italo, you'll have the choice of two options during the day. Italo trains are high_speed trains operating throughout Italy and will get you to Venice in around 1h 30min. Trenitalia offers three options for this route. A high_speed train, an intercity train, and a night train. The high_speed trains will take between 1h 15min and 1h 30min, while the others will take anywhere from 1h 50min to 2h 30min depending on the length of the stopovers and how many there are en route.

Trenitalia offers the more frequent option and provides you with numerous choices. Your high_speed options are the fastest and usually come with direct routes from Peschiera del Garda to Venice Santa Lucia in less than 1h 30min. The Regionale intercity and night train options usually have at least one changeover en route and tend to take longer. They are usually the more comfortable options though.
When taking a train from Peschiera del Garda to Venice, you'll have the luxury of choosing between first and second class. These trains typically take a little longer than the other trains, with a travel time of around 2h 30min, but they are usually more comfortable.
The only travel that is currently more sustainable than train travel is if you either walk or bike the distance. Travelling by train tends to emit up to 70% less carbon into the atmosphere than travelling by car or plane. Covering the distance between these two destinations by car could mean three times more CO2 emissions, while a plane could be four times as much. You'll also find the use of space when travelling by train to be more efficient and there's less noise pollution.
