On the train, after a short search, I found my seat by the window, which was comfortable enough to enjoy the whole journey without any problems. As fields and small towns passed by outside, the atmosphere quickly became calm and relaxed. The carriage was well attended, but by no means overcrowded, and the passengers were pleasantly quiet. From Kiel to Berlin I had to change trains once in Hamburg. I first travelled on a regional express train, which was very full. However, the interior was clean and the toilets were hygienic. The seats were also comfortable and there were power sockets and internet. Changing trains in Hamburg went smoothly as both trains were on time. From Hamburg to Berlin I took the ICE, which had a normal capacity utilisation. It was also clean and hygienic inside. Unfortunately, it was far too warm for me in the passenger compartment. The on-board bistro was also not open. Otherwise, everything else was fine. The ticket price in particular was favourable for this route. Overall, I can definitely recommend the journey. Especially as the changeover worked out so well.

I recently travelled from Kiel to Berlin by train and had an overall pleasant experience. The train was clean and comfortable and I had enough space for my legs. The staff on board were quite friendly and took good care of you. The journey time was also quite short and there were enough stops and convenient to get on and off the train. One drawback, however, was that the train was sometimes a bit late. Overall, though, it was a good option for a quick and comfortable as well as carbon neutral journey.

The return journey from Kiel to Berlin was not as good as the outward journey from Berlin to Kiel. My seat had a brown stain (could have been a coffee stain) I pointed this out to the staff and asked if I could get another seat and the staff woman said I should pay for it. I was then standing for the whole journey, but no big deal, the train was on time, the food was good and the toilets were clean. I had to change trains again in Hamburg, which was no problem.
