CleanlinessOverall, the journey on the ICE was pleasant. I was able to sit comfortably, the wifi was stable and the atmosphere in the carriage was calm. However, the heating was a disadvantage. Its setting was too strong for me, which is why it became a little uncomfortable over time. Nevertheless, I found the journey pleasant, partly because of the friendliness of the on-board staff and their regular tours of the train. There was a wifi function, which I also used. There was no entertainment and the sockets were damaged. There was an on-board restaurant but the prices were too high for me. The train was only slightly late and was generally quite punctual. The service was nice and friendly but I had no contact with the staff but the announcements were clear and informative. The train was also clean and the toilets were fine. My ticket cost me about 20 euros and I think the price was more than fair for the service

The trip to Berlin was for private reasons, so the price was a bit expensive by my standards, precisely because there was not much demand at the time. However, since there was no alternative means of transport and the car would have been much more expensive in comparison, the price-performance ratio is okay.

DelayI wanted to go to an old friend's house after Christmas because she was having an operation and I wanted to visit her. I got the ticket without any problems and the price was quite ok for a journey in the ICE. The seats were comfortable and the wifi had a good connection while travelling, the socket was unfortunately broken in my seat but it wasn't really tragic. One of the negative things was the hygiene in the toilet.... Beer bottle in the sink, painted walls and toilet paper everywhere. It was also disgusting and unhygienic. Despite these negative events, the punctuality was 10 times more unpleasant than the hygiene. We often had to stop on the way and we didn't get any clear information. Then I arrived later than expected and missed my bus. I would give it a -10 for the journey and the DB.

The service was also very good, the staff were very friendly and I was able to make reservations over the internet from the comfort of my own home. About the cleanliness. The toilets were not so clean, but the rest of the train was clean. Technically, the price-performance ratio was very good, I only paid 20€. The train was also only 2 minutes late, which was pretty okay. In summary, it was a trip that was very worthwhile for €20 and I can only recommend it.

PriceStart: Duisburg Hbf 17.12 departure 06:08 track 13 ICE 843 and arrival was 10:14 in Berlin Hbf, because we wanted to Berlin Potsdam, we had to change at the main station to a RE 3345 departure 10:3 and arrival was 10:34.
The ICE was clean and quiet. The seats were as expected very comfortable with plenty of power sockets.
The RE was a bit crowded (typical for Berlin) and therefore louder.
We much prefer travelling by train to by car as it is simply less stressful.
