Located in Northamptonshire in the East Midlands, Corby is a town well connected via public transport. There are trains to Corby every hour from London's St Pancras International station, and with a journey time of only one hour, it is a popular commuter route. Corby station, in the centre of the town, is also served by East Midlands trains from Kettering, and is also a stop on the line from Derby to East Midlands Parkway, also operated by East Midlands Trains. The connections to St Pancras International in London and East Midlands Parkways, the closest stop to East Midlands Airport, means that Corby, although small, is ideally located for international onward travel.
Although a small town, Corby can trace its roots back through several centuries, making it an ideal travel destination for lovers of history. Located in the Deene area Kirby Hall is a grand historic house set in acres of beautiful gardens. Enjoy a tour of the property, with its antique furnishings and artworks, and finish with a picnic in the gardens, surrounded by the majestic peacocks. The nearby East Carlton Country Park is another place where you can escape to nature. There are several different marked walks to enjoy as well as a story trail aimed at children. Adults might enjoy the public sculptures in the park and a rest and a coffee in the park's cafe. Visitors to the area who are a little more active might want to head out to Corby's own Race Club UK, a karting track for adults and kids alike. There's also a bar and restaurant area, where you can unwind after your day of racing.
