I travelled with FlixTrain from Aachen to Berlin. I didn't have to make an explicit reservation, it was already included in the price. As far as the price is concerned, it is very low for the distance. So it was very good value for money. The journey time was also not really long at just under 5 hours. The train was clean and in good condition. It was slightly late, but that is forgivable.
