The route between Barcelona and Girona is serviced by the Spanish state-owned railway company Renfe, with 16 traditional and two high-speed trains each day. All journeys are direct, and take between about 40 and 80 minutes to complete.
There are 18 trains from Barcelona to Girona each weekday. The earliest leaves at about 7:00 am and the last at about 10:00 pm. The trains leave approximately hourly.

Departure train station: Most of the trains (15 of the 18 daily trains) headed from Barcelona to Girona leave from the Barcelona Sants station - the main station in Barcelona. The station is situated in west Barcelona, and is easily accessed by metro trains, bus or taxi.
