Advantages
IconQuiet ride
IconGood service
Disadvantages
IconLonger waiting times
The journey back from Munich to Hamburg by Deutsche Bahn went relatively smoothly except for minor delays. In 1st class, it was very quiet overall. There was also more legroom than is usual in second class. So it was worth it for the long journey. The journey took an estimated 7 hours.
Advantages
IconIt was comfortable
Disadvantages
IconThe toilets were very full
I travelled by ICE from Munich main station to Hamburg main station on 24.7.2023. It took 6.5 hours. Unfortunately, the wifi didn't work very well. Unfortunately, the whole trip was very expensive (€87.60). I hadn't reserved a seat, but there were still plenty of free seats.
Advantages
IconTrain equipment
Disadvantages
IconExpensive
The train ride from Munich to Hamburg was overall pleasant and comfortable, the train offered enough seats and the interior was clean and well maintained. A plus point was the free wifi on board. The train staff were friendly and the service was satisfactory. There were regular announcements about the next stops and possible delays, which made it easier to plan the journey. The travel time from Munich to Hamburg was reasonable. However, changes were necessary, which made the journey more uncomfortable. I found the price performance to be fair.
Advantages
IconComfortable ride, despite the long distance
IconWell-equipped on-board bistro
IconNice staff
Disadvantages
IconSlight delay
My husband and I celebrated the turn of the year in Munich. Because of the bad weather, we decided at short notice to take the train instead of the car for this long distance - a very good decision! The train journey was very pleasant and both the outward and return journeys were quick and without complications, except for a slightly delayed departure in Munich, which didn't bother us at all.
Advantages
IconGood comfort
IconGood equipment
Disadvantages
IconSlight delay
The train journey from Munich to Hamburg was very pleasant. We had a really nice seat in one of the newest trains. It was practical that every seat had a power socket and that there were lots of luggage racks. So you didn't always have to lift your heavy suitcase over you onto the high shelf. The on-board staff was very friendly. Otherwise, the train was slightly late, but that was ok. All in all, a recommendable trip.
Advantages
IconICE train journey very pleasant
IconGood legroom
IconPleasant atmosphere / volume
Disadvantages
IconDuration of the trip (7 hours)
IconPoor wifi
IconToilets not quite clean
The journey with the DB ICE from Munich HBF to Hamburg HBF was very pleasant on the whole. There was nothing to complain about in terms of comfort. The noise level on the train was pleasant. What was also good was that there was free wifi and a socket per seat. However, the wifi was a bit poor. The toilet was also not entirely hygienic/clean. Nevertheless, a trip that was worth the price.
Advantages
IconSimple

I got on my chosen train, sat down and didn't have to do anything else. Everything was totally relaxed and easy to understand and handle, whether young or old. I didn't even have to change trains. At the seat itself, you have plenty of space, your own table and a power socket. There is even wifi on every train. The on-board bistro offers a wide selection of delicious dishes, including vegetarian and vegan.

Some time ago, I travelled from Munich central station to Hamburg. There were a few delays on the approximately seven-hour journey. Unfortunately, this made the journey not very pleasant. Hygiene in the ICE was top notch, though! The equipment was also very good, the wifi worked great and the seats were also very comfortable. The on-board staff were also very friendly.

I travelled by ICE from Munich, the train arrived on time as planned and also arrived in Hamburg as planned. In terms of comfort, the seat was very comfortable and the seats and tables were also very clean. The service was also very friendly. The train atmosphere was also quite nice, it wasn't so loud and I didn't feel disturbed or uncomfortable. Recommended for everyone on a short trip.

My train journey from Munich to Hamburg was very great! The journey was very comfortable. The seats were comfortable, the train was clean and the wifi was good.... I rate the trip as a very positive experience overall. The staff were really very wifi friendly and there was good wifi reception. There was also excellent hygiene throughout the train. Another advantage is that it was very quiet on the train and there was a pleasant atmosphere. The ticket price is also very fair. Due to the very comfortable experience, I can recommend the train connection.
