Seats and Luggage

When securing your tickets, you can choose between ordinary non-reserved seats, ordinary reserved seats, and the highly spacious Green Car (first class) for extra legroom.

You must also adhere to the strict Kyoto Hiroshima Shinkansen luggage policies. If you are travelling with large suitcases, any bag with total dimensions (height + width + depth) between 161 cm and 250 cm absolutely requires a dedicated oversized luggage Shinkansen reservation. If you board the bullet train without pre-booking this specific baggage space, you will face a penalty fee from the conductor.

Arriving in Hiroshima & Day Trips

Arriving at the main station places you perfectly in the city centre. Onward travel from Hiroshima Station to Peace Memorial Park is incredibly easy; simply jump on the historic local tram (streetcar) network right outside the exit.
