Traveling on the San'yo Shinkansen between Hakata and Shin-Kobe is a smooth and comfortable experience. Hakata Station's Shinkansen platforms are clearly signed in English and Japanese, and the trains themselves are models of punctuality, delays of even a few minutes are genuinely rare.

Shin-Kobe's location on the San'yo Shinkansen makes it an ideal base for short regional excursions:
