Advantages

IconComfortable seats with good equipment
IconVery clean and hygienic
IconOn time and no change
Disadvantages
IconQuiet and incomprehensible announcements
In the regional express, the journey went really fast and without changing trains from Chemnitz to Leipzig. Especially since the train was not delayed, it was very comfortable. There were staff on the train who carried out a quick ticket check. They also made announcements, but these had been far too incomprehensible and quiet, just like the automatic announcements. The train was very clean and the toilets were hygienic. The seats were comfortable and there were enough power sockets and a stable internet connection. Overall, it was still a relaxing and enjoyable journey for me.

The regional express between Chemnitz and Leipzig runs once an hour, journey time approx. 60 minutes. The train arrives at the station just before departure and there are already many passengers waiting, so boarding is often stressful and a lot of jostling. In most cases, the train is an old GDR train with narrow doors and steep stairs, unfortunately not barrier-free and very inconvenient for bicycles, prams, wheelchairs and large suitcases. There are smaller compartments and two open-plan carriages. The train is not really clean, there are neither sockets nor wifi and sometimes the lights don't work. So comfort is already limited. But it has a lot of nostalgic flair! Punctuality is usually good. Train attendants are usually friendly. Seat reservations are not possible on regional trains anyway. All right for a quick trip between two cities, but with compromises in comfort.
Advantages
IconFriendly staff at ticket control
IconComfortable seats with power sockets
IconSnack machine
IconNo delay
Disadvantages
IconNo internet connection
From Chemnitz to Leipzig you could take the regional express without changing trains. It was very relaxing because there were not many people on the train. However, the train only had power sockets. Unfortunately, there was no internet connection. The staff were friendly at the ticket check and the seats were comfortable. There was also a snack machine on the train. As the train was on time, I found the journey very good.
Advantages
Iconwas on time
Disadvantages
Iconold train
I went to the Wave Gothik Treffen in Leipzig with my daughter and we decided to take the train after many years. I was really surprised, because it started in Chemnitz right on the minute. The train was very full, but we still got seats. It was a very old train with compartments. Nevertheless, everything was clean. After a bumpy noisy ride, we arrived on time. Getting on and off the train is very difficult, e.g. for senior citizens. The train is not handicapped accessible. Unfortunately, there was no wifi. The toilet is really only for emergencies. You can book and pay for your journey by mobile phone. Unfortunately, the journey was too expensive for such an old train.
Advantages
IconCleanliness
Disadvantages
IconToo many people
IconOldest train
IconVolume
IconNo network / wifi / internet
The train ride from Chemnitz to Leipzig is always a pain. There were already loads of people on the train, some sat in the aisles, including me. The plus point is the cleanliness. It was also exceptionally punctual, so the outward journey was more bearable than the return. However, Chemnitz still has the oldest train of all, which means it is incredibly noisy. In addition, there is no network or wifi. The staff were friendly. I wonder why they don't use more trains when there are crowds of people at the platforms every time! The price is advertised as a saver price - I find €17.50 for a one-way journey in such a horrible train unbelievable!
Advantages
IconRelaxed atmosphere and comfortable seats
IconSufficient sockets and a stable wifi connection
IconLow capacity utilisation
IconNo delays and no changes
IconCleanliness and hygiene on the train and in the toilets
Disadvantages
IconNo staff available
This train journey was very relaxing. I really enjoyed the journey, especially as the train was barely full. The atmosphere was also very relaxing. I found the seats comfortable and there were plenty of power sockets and a stable internet connection. The toilets and corridors on the train were also very clean and hygienic. The train had also hardly been delayed and I didn't have to change trains. Unfortunately, however, there was no staff on board, which is why there was no ticket inspection and no connection announcements. Otherwise, I found it very nice.
Advantages
IconPunctuality
Disadvantages
IconHygiene
The train arrived at its destination on time. There were power sockets and free wifi on the train. The staff was very satisfactory because they were super nice and helpful. There was enough legroom and the seats were very comfortable. I was also able to enjoy the scenery during the train journey. Although the train journey was very good, there is one weak point. The toilets were very dirty!
Advantages
IconPrice is great
Disadvantages
IconTakes a little long
It was a very nice experience, you saw a lot, wifi and sockets were available, I had no problem now that I couldn't write back to my mother or charge my mobile phone, the seats were very comfortable, the volume was pleasant, the food was all good, you got good drinks, I sat warm and comfortable. The friendliness of the staff was really good and the cleanliness was perfect. The duration of the journey was normal, the value for money is very good so you can't complain, it was really the best experience
