The customer opinion was acquired via Cimenio. Cimenio incentivises its users for giving an honest opinion and proving the booking with a photo of the travel ticket.
Advantages
IconPlay corner available
IconSufficient equipment
IconToilets worked and were hygienic
IconCalm atmosphere
Disadvantages
IconDisplays and announcements defective
On the regional train, there was the special feature that there was an extra section for children with games, so that I could sit in the other compartment, where it was correspondingly quiet. However, announcements and displays on the train did not work. The seats were comfortable and clean and the toilets worked and were also hygienic. The facilities on the train were adequate, such as wifi and power sockets, and the train was punctual.
Advantages
IconNo need to change trains
IconToilets were very clean
Disadvantages
IconNo staff
IconDelay of 10 minutes
IconShort train and therefore high capacity utilisation and noisy atmosphere
The train from Ahrensburg to Hamburg was quite short, which is why the train was very busy. As a result, I found it too noisy, as there were a lot of families travelling with their children at that time. It was also very dirty because it was raining outside at the time. The train was delayed by 10 minutes. What I liked was that I didn't have to change trains on my journey. In contrast to the passenger compartment, the toilets were very clean and hygienic. Unfortunately, there was no staff on the train, which is why many people were unable to make their connection. That's why I didn't like the journey so much!
Advantages
IconThe train is usually not full on this route, which means you can pretty much always get a seat.
Disadvantages
IconThe route is not particularly scenic.
Unfortunately, wifi is not available in all carriages. There are also no power sockets in 2nd class. The staff are usually friendly and the train carriages are relatively clean. The toilets, on the other hand, are usually dirty and smell unpleasant. There are frequent delays on the route. However, the price is okay.
Advantages
IconSufficient capacity
IconGood timing
IconFast and convenient alternative to the car
Disadvantages
IconDirty toilets
IconRepeated breakdowns (defects in the trains)
The regional railway (or regional express) from Ahrensburg to Hamburg is a fast and convenient alternative to the car. You can be in the centre of Hamburg within 15-20 minutes. The trains are long enough and offer plenty of space. Additional trains run during rush hour, giving you up to five connections to Hamburg during this time. Between and before rush hour, there are three connections per hour to Hamburg. The RE trains are all equipped with wifi and power sockets (even in 2nd class). Some of the RB trains have wifi and power sockets (1st class only). This depends on the type of carriage. The staff are mostly nice and helpful. Single or day tickets are unfortunately quite expensive. A €49 ticket is well worth it if you travel regularly by train. Disappointingly, the trains are often cancelled due to defects on the trains. Furthermore, dirty toilets are unfortunately a recurring negative feature. Basically, it is easy to get to your destination, in this case Hamburg main station.
