Aegean Airlines History
Aegean Airlines was established in 1987 as a business focused airline. Scheduled flights as a commercial airline did not begin until 1999 after a license was granted by the Greek Government and a number of aircraft were purchased by the company. Based in Greece, the airline offers a range of flights to destinations across Greece and Europe.
Aegean Airlines Airports and Destinations
The main hub of Aegean Airlines is based in Athens International Airport, with further hubs located at Thessaloniki International Airport and one based on the island of Cyprus at Larnaca International Airport. In 2015, Aegean Airlines flies to 134 destinations in 42 countries, including major cities like Paris, Milan and London.
Aegean Airlines Services
The majority of flights provided by Aegean Airlines offer passengers holding gold cards or for those travelling business class the chance to use the business lounges offered at many international airports. Each passenger is provided with an entertainment screen on newer aircraft in the more than 30 vehicle fleet and salads and sandwiches are offered on longer flights operated by Aegean Airlines.
Aegean Airlines Ticket Types
Aegean Airlines offers two ticket classes for the majority of their flights; economy and business classes. Business class passengers can change their tickets an unlimited amount of times without a booking or change fee, with discounts offered on children's tickets for those accompanying business class passengers. Economy tickets can be booked as GoLight or Flex tickets, with Flex tickets able to be changed as many times as required without additional fees being charged. GoLight includes discounts for children's tickets on qualifying flights.
