About
Braathens Regional Aviation was a Swedish airline that operated wet-leasing services for its sister airline, Braathens Regional Airlines, from 2016 until it ceased operations in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Founded in 1981 as Malmö Aviation, it initially operated domestic routes from Stockholm Bromma Airport. The broader \Braathens\" entity, with a legacy dating back to 1946, has evolved into a partner for flexible wet lease and charter solutions. They offer ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services, ad hoc flights, and long-term charter operations. Their diverse fleet includes ATR 72 turboprop aircraft, as well as Airbus A319 and A320 models. As of January 2025, Braathens operates flights on behalf of Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) under a long-term agreement."
