However, Itapemirim faced significant financial difficulties and controversies, including the diversion of funds to create an airline, ITA Transportes Aéreos, which operated for only six months in 2021. The company was declared bankrupt on September 21, 2022. Currently, the bus lines are being operated under a lease agreement by Suzantur, as Nova Itapemirim.
