Lund is a fairly small city and most of its major attractions can be found within a short distance of each other in the city center. Walking is the easiest way to take in the sites of Lund in a short amount of time. Start your walk in the Botaniska trädgården which is Lund's botanic garden and is home to over 7,000 different species of plants. Wander at your leisure through the magnificent gardens before heading out on Tunavagen Street towards the Kulturen Museum. This open-air museum houses buildings dating from the Middle Ages through to the 1930s. Guided tours are available or you can wander around the museum at your own pace. Take the Kulturen entrance to the Lundagård park and explore the delightfully shaded walkways of the park on your way to the Lund Cathedral. This magnificent building was built in 1080 and is now the seat of the Bishop of Lund of the Church of Sweden. Stop to take a walk through this ancient building that was once a Roman Catholic cathedral and was a key part of the reformation in Sweden. Afterward, head to a nearby cafe to enjoy a well-deserved cake and coffee.
