The best time to visit the city of Gibraltar is in the Spring or the Autumn. Temperatures range from the mid to upper 60s during these seasons and the days are generally sunny and clear. This is the perfect time to climb the famous Rock of Gibraltar and explore the streets of this unique city and country. Many visitors flock to the beaches of Gibraltar at this time of the year as the water is still warm enough for swimming. The city is not as crowded as it gets in the summer months allowing visitors to have a choice of hotels to stay in and restaurants to dine in. National Day occurs on the 10th of September and is the biggest yearly event in Gibraltar. All of the locals dress in red and white and celebrate the day that Gibraltar chose to remain under British Sovereignty. The day is marked with parades, as well as live music events, and delicious street food stalls are on every corner. The winters in Gibraltar are mild but visitors should pack a jacket to deal with the cool evenings or mornings, and an umbrella as this is the season of heavy rainfall.
