Benicássim, a quaint seaside resort located in the Valencia region of Spain. Each summer the town comes alive with tourists looking to relax in the sun. With five beaches spread across the coastal town, there’s plenty of room to unwind.

 

How to travel to Benicássim

There is no airport in Benicássim, yet flying is still the fastest way to the Costa del Azahar seaside town. The most convenient option for sunseekers is to fly into Valencia (VLC) airport which lies 55 miles south of the seaside resort. Upon arrival, passengers can take the subway to Renfe Valencia Estacio del Nord and then another train to Benicássim. The train to Benicássim runs every three hours and takes approximately 1 hour and 23 minutes.

Barcelona El Prat serves as another popular option when travelling to Benicássim. Located 163 miles north of the town, the journey is made simple and easy with the efficient public transport available. Simply grab the express airport bus to Pl. Espanya and the 109 bus to Barcelona Sants station, where there is a train every two hours to Benicássim. The direct journey takes about 3 hours and 40 minutes.

Grabbing the train to Benicássim can take between 13 hours to 26 hours depending on the amount of transfers required. The quickest route takes passengers from London St.Pancras to Paris Nord via. Eurostar. With an inter-city change to Paris Gare de Lyon station to catch the TGV high-speed train to Barcelona Sants, with the last leg of the journey being a direct connection with RENFE to Benicássim.

All trains arrive at Estación de Tren de Benicássim, which is located about 10 minutes walking distance from the town centre and 23 minutes from the golden sands of Playa del Torreon.

The most convenient journey by bus to Benicássim requires two changes, one in Lille and another in Castellón de la Playa. All buses depart from London Victoria Station and arrive at Gare Lille airport 5 hours and 40 minutes later. The next leg of the journey takes 24 hours and 30 minutes and arrives in Castellón de la Plana.

Another option of getting to Benicássim by bus is to travel from London Victoria to Zaragoza with Eurolines UK and then catch a transfer bus directly to Benicássim. The main bus station in Benicássim, Estación de Autobuses, is located right beside the beach and approximately 13 minutes from the town centre.
