I took the regional train from Northeim to Göttingen. The regional train was on time and clean, it had a toilet and wifi. As far as I know, you can't reserve seats on the regional train. The staff were friendly. Unfortunately, there is no on-board bistro. There is only one socket near the toilet on the regional train. Since it's a direct connection, you don't have to change trains.
