Icelandair
Icelandair History
Icelandair dates back to 1939, when the first airport was established in Iceland and float planes (which could float on water, as well as fly) began operating. The company that we now know as Icelandair is extremely popular, with between 2 and 3 million passengers utilising its services annually over the past decade.
Icelandair Airports/Stations and Destinations
The main hub for Icelandair is Reykjavik. Icelandair operates flights between Reykjavik and London on a regular basis, as well as connecting travellers with destinations in the northern areas of the US, especially Canada.
Icelandair Services
The majority of Icelandair's planes are equipped with high-speed wi-fi and entertainment systems that can be used in flight. The airline prides itself on being extremely child-friendly, offering extra blankets, pillows, headsets, and free meals for children, as well as a range of children's movies.
Icelandair Ticket Types
There are three classes of ticket that you can choose from when you travel with Icelandair. These are Economy, Economy Comfort (slightly more expensive), and Saga Class (slightly more expensive again; named after the Icelandic Sagas, this is the equivalent of Business Class). Economy Comfort and Saga Class have the advantage of including free meals for passengers. There is a charge for checked luggage when you travel with this airline, regardless of ticket type. It is also possible to select your seat before you fly with them.
